Attention: Great news! Reservations are live for DCR facilities. Hopkinton State Park offers 2 day-use Pavilions but has no camping or after-hours stays.

A Pavilion reservation does NOT guarantee entry into the park. After making your reservation, be sure to inform guests that they must arrive early; if the park reaches day-use capacity, gates will be closed and entry will be denied until gates reopen. No exceptions. Reservation fees do not include parking. All vehicles are subject to parking fees upon entry, with machines located in each parking lot, or available for purchase online.

  • Pavilion Basics: Hopkinton State Park has two Pavilions available for reservation. Each Pavilion is a covered 24’x52’ concrete patio with picnic tables seating up to 100 people. Each is surrounded by a mowed, grassy field area.
  • The Beach Pavilion is in one of the busiest and most-loved parts of the park. The pavilion is located at one end of Parking Lot L at the Main Beach, also known as Lower Beach. It features a fully ADA accessible bathroom, water, and electric hookups, and it is within view of the historic earthen dam and the water. The beach is only a few yards away!
  • Split Rock Pavilion is located on its own road with the same name and contains Parking Lots O, N, and M. It is the quieter location of the two and has a more private feel, as well as a bit more shade. There is a marked trail directly behind the Split Rock Pavilion leading to Upper Beach. Please note the on-site bathroom is not fully ADA accessible and there is no electricity at this site.

  • IMPORTANT: On summer weekends and some holidays, this park may reach maximum day-use capacity and gates will be temporarily closed. No vehicles or patrons on foot will be allowed entry until gates reopen. For capacity closure updates, view the DCR Park Alerts Park Closure and Advisory Dashboard: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/dcr-park-alerts .

  • PLEASE BE ADVISED: Pavilions are intended for a self-catered picnic or simple gathering with a maximum of 125 participants. Should you be interested in catering, amplified music, equipment requiring the use of generators, bounce houses, fundraising events, any sales or money collection, etc., you will need to secure permission via a Special Use Permit. Applications are subject to fees and an approval process and are often submitted months to a year in advance. For more information, please visit: https://www.mass.gov/how-to/apply-for-a-state-parks-special-use-permit .
